I'd long since given up on CNET. Imagine my shock at reading this message just now (sent on the 30th of December, in response to a ping sent, oh, two weeks after my interview):

Wow, the corporate machine is crawling along. We hope to finish up with the whole process by 04 Jan. Thanks for your patience.

Of course, that's not a clear 'yes' or 'no', but wow.

That is pretty amazing!

I do remember when I was laid off over the holidays in '89 that there were several companies that didn't get back to me until two months after I sent out my cover letter and resume. It was kind of mind boggling to go from absolutely no responses whatsoever for months to half a dozen interviews and four offers in the last two weeks of January. I guess people suddenly had budget at the beginning of the year.
