The stretch limousine Hummer I saw on 85N this afternoon.

(I must also confess to a secret liking for the KFOG promo which dedicates the next set to "...everyone who has mistaken the new Hummer for a garbage truck.")

There's been a white stretch-hummer around Boston a lot lately, too. I'd love to see pictures of one of those off-road somewhere, but it would probably be stuck and getting winched out by some real ones :)

The "H2" is... strange. Especially when you see one next to a classic Hummer. Definitely over in the "go climb an on-ramp" category...

I saw the stretched Hummer on 93 into Boston last weekend. And yes, it is very strange. (And this week I saw a stretched checker cab downtown. But that's not what I came here to talk about.) It seems about as likely to go off road as the average SUV on any sort, which is to say, epsilon. I also rather like the Hummer ad in the paper a couple of weeks ago which included a bright yellow mountain bike called "My first hummer". It's a wonderful semiotic collision.

The new Hummer is obscene. Not only is it ugly as only an SUV can be, but it completely blocks the view from behind. Why, yes, I do like seeing the road ahead of me when I drive...
