This is the biannual filly announcement!

Atticus x Capucine, chestnut filly, blaze + 2 white feet, tentative name ADA Intuition ("Toots"). (She really does have eyes!) First impression is that Atticus did most of the heavy lifting here. Cap is still the kind of broodmare most people only get to dream of.

Current Mood: tickled pink

Anita adds:

Cap has been quite consistent this time (that is, same as 2 years ago). The following lessons delivered in the first 30 minutes:

1. I AM YOUR MOTHER! I can and will lick you to death so I can find you and I will speak to you so you know my name (AND DON'T YOU EVER FORGET IT!).

2. GET UP!!! Even if I lick you and you fall down, you have to get up again. Yes, I will chew on your ear if I need to.

3. RUN! Follow me around in circles in the stall. The jackals might get us. That's better -- that's a nice little rocking horse skedaddle.

4. Now, you can eat.

I may have to try this on the teenager some morning at oh-dark-hundred.

And, BTW, that's one cute filly!

Hee. She's obviously a good mom, teaching the important lessons early!

AND a filly.... are you going to keep her for your own breeding, or will time tell?

and nothing is a joy quite like a foal :D

I don't *plan* to sell anything, but six may be too many. I figure she and Recap constitute a matched hitch. Now all I need is a trustworthy driving trainer, and another 3 years.

You could take everything I know about horses and fix a toaster oven, but that's a cute lil' thing. Congratulations. :)

So lovely! When we lived in MA, not far from farms, I could expect to glimpse a few foals in Spring. Now we're in Queens, NY, and we'll just have to make a visit to the Farm Museum. As soon as the ground is non-mud. Thank you for this unexpected treat.

New photos

Hi Ambar,

My two mares are at the stable just across the street from your mare. Saturday I went over and took some photos (the stable manager said it was OK to go in with them). I hope you like them:

Your filly is *very* sweet and friendly (and beautiful, of course :-). Capucine warmed up to me quickly and let me pet them both at the end. Let me know if you want to order any prints.
