That sense of foreboding was not just my nervous system playing with itself. I have joined the ranks of the unemployed.

I really thought I'd be the one to turn the lights out at AltaVista. I saw it born. Guess I'll have to watch it die from afar.

Which is to say that my sympathies are with you.

I wouldn't want to work at a company with management that would lay you off, though it's always nice to be still employed while jobhunting. Here's hoping that something tolerable presents itself forthwith. You've got friends you can rely on, if worse comes to worst.

*hug* They are stupid and they don't deserve clever people like you to put out their fires. Are things going to be okay, more or less?
Rumour has it that AltaVista died long ago, it's just that the rotting husk hasn't had the sense to lie down.
