At the very bottom of the pile is something I recognize from the color. It is an unemployment check. WTF? I haven't gotten one of these since, what, January.
But I open it up. And there is in fact a check, for $1800 (much larger than any check they've given me before.) And at the top, in the unholy tiny computer printing, is the legend (in all caps, which I'm sparing you)
"Senate Bill 2xxx provided a one-time increase of the benefits on your unemployment insurance claim. The new weekly benefit amount is $330 . The new maximum benefit amount is $8580. A check for the difference in benefits for the weeks of unemployment compensation you received is attached."
I think someone is trying to tell me not to worry so damn much.
