Mmm, Panther

I seem to have survived my Panther upgrade, although there are a couple of holes in the upgrade process that Apple's QA really should have caught (notably, failing to create the postfix user and postdrop group that postfix requires).

I also needed to hit their Postfix config on the head a little bit to do what I want (send mail from the local machine. Unusual, what? Although I don't blame them for delivering the setup unspammable by default.) But now everything works. And hurrah, no more sendmail.

I have suddenly switched from Eudora 6 (which was crashing on startup, waaah!) to, of which I am still a little suspicious, but it does do thread sorting and support reasonably flexible filtering rules, so here goes.

Best of all, I have my first ever digital camera. Of course, I won't see the horses in daylight until the weekend, so you all can brace for the onslaught. :-)

This is the sticky sloggy part of the semester. I am trying madly to catch up in Chemistry from the week I took off for the clinic (yes, still!). Fortunately for me, what we're doing right now is equilibrium reactions and redox, which I had pounded into my head last quarter. Usually when I get to that point with a new unit, the instructor smiles sweetly and pulls out all sorts of theoretical material that I have never seen before, but since we're now two lectures in and no sign yet, I may be safe this time.

Must get two more transcript requests mailed off today and then I can stick to nailbiting about whether they'll arrive in time.

Missing elflet quite badly.

Bored of all the planning I have to do at work. Would like to carry out some of these plans for a change.

Lusting after this mare to an unreasonable extent. Kinda sorta thinking I need another mare for Palisades, and to continue to outcross Capucine, but. Anyone got a home trepanation kit? It would probably be cheaper.
